Coming soon to wherever you listen to podcasts.

Each week, I’m going to talk with people in the United States about student debt.

You’ll hear from people like this.

Alisha:

I knew that going to college was an expectation. I just didn’t think about how I would go or like the financial side of it.

Tameka:

Graduate school was my first time actually going through the student loan process. . And when I finished in 2015, I had $86,000 that I would need to pay back.

Ronny:

I took out $16,000 originally, which I actually took out and signed for $16,000. I paid off $14,000. I owe $21,000. Do the math on that.

Sarah:

And we figured out that I would have to pay $90,000 to get my loans forgiven because it would be that much taxable income.

Anonymous 1:

It was painful. like, how much is this going to cost me? If you’re paying. $60 a minute for every minute I have to do two hours for the work.

Matt:

I feel like I jumped into an icy cold water bed after I paid his loans off, which was like, now what.

Anonymous 2:

This is really therapeutic. I was talking about things that normally I don’t even like talking to my husband about because it just makes him red and crazy when he realizes like how much we have to pay back.

Nikki:
